‘If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat them as they ought to be, we help them to become what they are capable of becoming’

'Coaching turns everyday life into self-development. This is its great strength. Everyday life can be humdrum, or it can be a series of opportunities and a call to action.

Coaching helps people to become more themselves. Coaching is society’s way of moving people from one stage, where they are identified with social mores and introjected values to other stage, where they march to their own beat, and follow their own values. Therefore, coaching will create more individuals to enrich society. It will add to the breakdown of consensus and foster niches and small communities in a way the internet has already done.

Coaching helps people to tolerate ambiguity in themselves and therefore to tolerate ambiguity in others and deal with the world, wich changes so quickly. Coaching also gives multiple and richer perspectives, fostering post-modern thinking, wich is about looking from multiple perspectives at multiples contexts. It will make people think more about power – who has it and who has not. Perspective is power. Power goes to the perspective that is privileged, so people will be more aware of who decides which perspective is privileged.

Coaching helps people make new distinctions; this will help them lead a richer, happier life and also adjust to the new distinctions that are being created every day in the arts, the sciences and in business. At is best coaching will help people see that they can create a relationship of trust, and they will be able to take this and create more such relationships in their life.
We strongly believe that we need all these skills now and in every possible future.'
